Through the 1970s and 1980s anti-devolution politicians warned that legislative devolution would lead to political conflict and potential separation. William Ross, Enoch Powell and Tam Dalyell and others spoke out in support of a unitary parliamentary system of government. Today the evidence before all of us proves they were right.
