Election Not Referendum Decides Unity of United Kingdom

Posted on

At the May 2010 General Election, electors in Scotland cast their vote in favour of the Union. 59/59

constituencies in Scotland sent their MP to sit in the British Parliament. No abstentionist candidates where elected

(the SNP took their seats). The unity of the United Kingdom is decided through parliamentary representation or

abstention not by referendum.
